Studio Progress?

Often it seems like one step forward, another step back.

Morning Room used as Storage

This is going slowly because we keep finding problems.  The house was built in 1850.  The Studio 'shed' was added between the 'first shed' and the barn sometime later.  This room gets the morning sun on the French doors, thus it is the 'Morning Room'.  It is the most finished room in the whole house.  It is also the only place to 'store' material that will be needed in the Studio as it progresses.

It is hard to see the progress because the rest of the house is becoming storage for materials.  My kitchen just has a small space left for cooking and eating at the counter.

However, in the long run, I know it will be worth it.  I am really excited about having some of my dining room back to use.  I am going to put large pieces of plywood over the table so that I have a large space to photograph quilts, dye and paint.  Of course it will also replace my bed as a layout table.

That's really neat, Ann. I hope it goes more smoothly.

ohhh I'm going to have to threaten my husband with this - He's an avid woodworker - and has this nice two room shop that he has appropriated in our carriage house - while - I - exist in this little sewing hold off the family room. siighhh - finally I think its my turn now - we are turning our front parlor into my new studio!

Hi Nina,
Glad you are turning your front parlor into your studio. I know it will probably get more use than as a parlor.

I'm sure I will enjoy my new makeover. The wood shop was mine. Since I am single, I do all of the wood work, finish carpentry, etc. It is a matter of economics.
