Ruby Jubilee IQA Houston 2014

I decided this was so very special, it needed a page of its' own.  This is my one trip a year.  Usually my vacations involved visiting family, especially my dear Mom.  Now that she has passed, IQA Houston is my BIG trip/vacation.  This year was so very special because it was the 40th anniversary of the start of these shows.

Following the shot of the entry roses plus those gorgeous manikins, are photos of the special exhibit Karey put on to celebrate her life time of work.  Hopefully you will get a feel for the immense size of this display.  The outside shots show some of the dimension.  The inside shots are few because they were so difficult to photograph with out straining my neck.  The single shots are mostly large quilts.  There were also GORGEOUS small quilts.  However, after my camera refused to flash, I ended up taking photos with my cell phone.  Hard to impossible to overcome the lighting.

PLEASE relax and enjoy this visit.  Sorry that the exhibitor information is missing.  Because it was not attached to the individual quilt, [too distracting I think], I was not able to identify the makers.

The inside quilts were harder for me to photograph because of my limited mobility.  However, I do hope you get a feel for the SIZE, QUALITY, and VARIETY of these WONDERFUL quilts

The following are individual quilts on display around the perimeter.

A few examples of the small quilts.  The difficulty I had in photographing these was the bright lighting + my equipment [cell phone] + skill level.  All of these exhibit quilts were exquisite.  Of course every single quilt in this display was of such a high high level, that I felt privileged to be able to see these in person.  The small quilts were microscopic in detail.
