Quilt of Honor
My idea was to have these large stars as the 'flow of interest'. Unfortunately, it got tooo tooo busy. I bought a lot of red-white-blue fabric, but very little red fabric or blue fabric. Lesson learned, I hope.
Layout on my Bed
My bed is the usual place where I lay out my designs. I have to be confident that I can get it sewn before I meed to use my bed for sleeping OR take a photo for reference. I take a lot of photos.
My Design Plan
I redesigned this today. The next 'Quilt of Honor' will have bigger stars and smaller background pieces.

Ann...I like it, especially the Stars! It reminds me of those beloved scrappy quilts that my Great Gma made. I'll look forward to seeing how you quilt it. GGma would have tied hers with yarn. ThanKs for Sharing.
Your link worked just fine, Ann. It is a little busy but I like your stars and I think some lucky service member will love it.
I think the busy-ness of it makes the white stars stand out more. Good design and nice design "wall".

Anne, I also like this quilt very much. Busy it might be, but I think it works very well and the white stars are perfect with it.
