Last weekend I was working in my garden trying to get it flat enough to plant. During the digging I uncovered this large piece of rusty something. I think it was once used to hold something up. I photographed my foot in the photo so you could get an idea of size. That is a size 42 clog.
Since I have never tried rust dying, I thought this was the perfect time. I used two very different fabrics to see how this would work. However it has been a week now and nothing is happening. I've tried to keep the fabric wet. However, during the day, the sun really dries it out fast. Could I put it in a plastic bag? Or would that make it mold? Suggestions welcomed.
